Visit to Zion's
On our way home from the family reunion, we decided to stop at Zion's Nat'l Park. I had never been before and it had been several years for Ammon. We figured that since we pass by it all the time on our drive between Utah and Arizona, that we should stop sometime so this time became sometime.
Here he is "reading" the plaque about the rock. He actually did read a few of the small sign markers along the path.
Here's us on the park's shuttle. It's a pretty goofy pic of us but look at the awesome view through the window! It was amazingly beautiful up there.
It was quite the hike once we got near the pools- stairs and more stairs. I don't know how Ammon did it, carrying Connor on his shoulders.
View of the rocks from the uppermost pool.

We do the same thing whenever we drive that I-15 path--we talk about doing Zion's, but haven't yet done it. The pictures are beautiful. Would you advise a family who is, let's say, much less athletic than yours to make the jaunt?
Good to see you made the homeward trip memorable: something I rarely did or do when I have the "road wingos" and just want to get home NOW.
Jackie: the trails around Zions cater to all mobility levels.
Jackie, anyone can do Zion's and have a great time. There are such a variety of options available- there are way tough hikes (like the 4-hour ones that climb a 1000 ft like Ammon was trying to convince me to go on- ha) and there are way easy strolls as well. There's a visitor's center, a shuttle that takes you on a guided tour through the park, lots of areas to wander and explore or you can go on any of a dozen or so hikes. You guys could definitely do it! I hope you get a chance to go sometime soon.
These pics are great! I have always wanted to go to Zion's. Maybe we'll go together next time :)
