13 days in the hospital... 89 until due...

Well, someone's bringing by a meal and Connor was very compliant with his homework so while he's drawing a picture for Melanie I thought I'd take a couple of minutes to update everyone...

Melanie was rapidly out of the crisis stage which means she was moved to a regular room, has had a roommate (currently alone, she prefers the privacy), and has 30 minutes of "wheelchair privileges" a day so she's been able to see Connor a bit (about 60 minutes last week).

Following are a few pictures taken (the week of Christmas) just before Melanie was admitted:

Connor giving an extra kiss to Abigail:

Connor showing off some of his gifts - "Baker in training" on a scooter
(I wish I had of taken more pictures)

Connor's loved Christmas so much that we haven't taken it all down yet!
(At least that's the excuse I tell myself...)

Here's a picture my mother gave Connor.

Last year he drew dozens of pictures of Jesus and the manger scene.
This year we've been really trying hard curb the "santamania" by teaching him that the giving example of the Santa figure is the example we must follow an inspirational person who follows the example of the Christ.
About every day he would "wrap up" a picture that he'd draw or a little book that he'd create.
I keep telling him that these are the types of gifts that really show he cares.

Here's a Connor silly moment
"Put it on the blog, dad!"

A silly family moment the night before Melanie was admitted to the hospital.
(Try it sometime, it's fun!)

Our (cross-eyed) love to all!!!

Mel has been lent a laptop so she may be blogging a bit

What I thought was going to be a "quick post" actually took me a little while!
At least we were able to have
a nice quick FHE with Mel tonight.

1 1/2 hours drive time for a 30 minute visit...
TOTALLY WORTH IT!
(I wish we could do it more...)
